Ready, Set ? PVT!
That's it, after the opening of the International Experience Canada (IEC) candidate pools on December 19, 2022, the new rounds of invitations for Working Holiday permits (PVT) in Canada resume on January 9, 2023 (in 2022, the rounds started the week of January 17).
There are no fewer than 7,100 spots available for French nationals next week for the PVT.
It's worth remembering that for the entire year of 2022, 10,950 invitations were sent to French IEC candidates.
As a reminder, the PVT is an open work permit that allows, as its name suggests, working for any employer in Canada (with some job exceptions) unlike the closed work permit, which only allows working for a designated employer.
Its duration varies depending on the country of citizenship (12 months for Belgians, 24 months for French).
A quick reminder of the conditions:
Be a national of a country participating in the program (France, Belgium, Spain, etc.)
Be between 18 and 30 years old (18-35 years for the French)
Have at least $2,500 CAD (about 1,750 euros according to the current rate) to cover your expenses in Canada
Have a passport valid for the entire duration of your stay in Canada;
Take out health insurance for the duration of your stay;
Not be inadmissible to Canada;
Have, before your departure, a round-trip ticket or demonstrate that you will have enough money to buy a return ticket at the end of your authorized stay in Canada;
Pay the fees of $261 (IEC fees and open work permit) and $85 for biometric data, making a total of $346.
Registration is quick and relatively easy. It's high time to try your luck!
